WHAT IS A BONDED CARRIER?
A bonded carrier is a transportation provider / carrier that is licensed by US Customs and Border Protection to move freight through/across U.S. points of entry (ports, border crossings) without having to pay duties, taxes and/or fees on those goods while shipment is “In Transit”.
CERTIFIED BONDED CARRIERS
In-bond shipments are shipments that are not yet released by customs. Inbond shipments can be moved inland only by a bonded carrier to a bonded facility or exported to another country. In-bond shipments can only be carried by carriers who have a bond.
